Physicochemical Properties of Mixture Diesel Biofuels with Vegetable Oil Additives and their Flammability

The article focuses on types of biofuels and ways of using them in internal combustion engines. The study shows that for diesel engines the most promising is the use of biofuels obtained from vegetable oils. In agriculture, the use of mixture diesel biofuels is economically feasible. The analysis of physicochemical properties of vegetable oils and their mixtures with diesel fuel is carried out. The flammability of petroleum diesel fuel, rapeseed oil and sunflower oil in the combustion chamber of a diesel engine is studied. Findings of the research show that the flammability of mixture diesel biofuels with small additives of vegetable oils (up to 10 %) practically does not differ from the flammability of petroleum diesel fuels. However, the use of these fuels leads to a reduction in the smokiness of the exhaust gases by 13...17 % and a decrease in the emission of nitrogen oxides by 2...3 %
