A variant of the method of band-adaptive grids is offered which is based on TVD scheme of the 2nd order of accuracy. Results of testing the numerical method using problems on decay, disruption of flow about a wedge and a step are presented. It is shown that the developed method based on TVD scheme provides the higher accuracy of numerical simulation in comparison to the method of band-adaptive grids based on MacCormack scheme, but the calculation time is almost equal for both methods.
