The comparative analysis of stabilization effects (enhancement in half-life and stability against nuclear reactions) of heavy atomic nuclei is performed. These effects are associated with the equilibrium of nuclear and Coulomb's forces, the pairing of neutrons (protons), and the population of nuclear shells. The influence of the proton richness of a nucleus on nuclear-physical and neutron-physical properties of heavy nuclides is investigated. The supposition is made that the island of stability may be extended in the direction of growth of the number of neutrons in the nucleus.
