In electrostatic approximation, on the basis of solving the Vlasov-Poison system of equations by integration along the undisturbed paths, the possibility of development of non-collisional drift instabilities in plasma of field reversed configuration is analyzed. A dispersion equation is derived that describes the drift instabilities associated with gradients of the plasma density, ion and electron temperatures. The analysis of results has shown that for typical conditions of the field reversed configuration, the development of the ion temperature-gradient instability may be limited because of a finite length of the plasma area in the facility, but the necessary condition for the development of the electron temperature-gradient instability is satisfied.
