Results of investigations of thermo-physical and gas-dynamical processes of interaction (in quasi-one-dimensional statement) of laser radiation with a power density of 106...108 W/cm2 (λ≈1,06 μm, λ≈0,69 μm, τ=10-4...10-8 c) with spatially confined targets (fusible metals and dielectrics of polymer series) are presented. The results are necessary for analysis of a macrostructure of the interaction area and dynamics of phase transitions. With intensities of laser radiation that are smaller than thresholds of optical breakdown, conditions of transition of a wave of mature evaporation into a wave of thermal ionization are determined for homogenous gas flows and flows with the condensed phase.
