Efficiency of applying the sensitivity analysis method is illustrated by the example of the optimal turbine disk design. A problem of the disk mass minimization under strength and construction limitations is considered. The method allows finding the optimal disk design constructions taking account of flexible-plastic deformations. Results of the comparative efficiency analysis are given for the gradient projection method using the sensitivity analysis and the quadratic approximation method using the finite-difference derivative approximation. The sensitivity analysis method is shown to make possible the essential decrease of the calculation time and increase of a number of the used design parameters.
